Anne has recently become an independent consultant. She has experience of working with children with complex difficulties in all sectors of education from nursery to FE. She has management experience as both a deputy and acting head of a special school as well as coordinator of an outreach support service for children with physical and medical needs and their families. She also worked as Inclusion Adviser for Doncaster Education City; a project aiming to bring a uniform access to learning opportunities to all post 16 learners in Doncaster.

Anne has worked on a number of projects with Anne Hayward, including writing the draft guidance and criteria for application for Specialist Special School status together with writing case studies to illustrate good practice, for inclusion in new guidance to specialist schools wishing to take up a second SEN specialism.

Anne is currently a member of nasen’s Secondary and Post-16 Advisory Group. She is a long serving trustee of the Yorkshire Adoption Agency, based in Doncaster, where she also sits on their home adoption panel.

Anne is also a founding Trustee for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in South Yorkshire. Anne has been heavily involved in the process of seeing the hospice building completed, while at the same time, monitoring the development of a ‘care in the community’ support service for children with life-limiting conditions.

Anne supports a number of families through various statutory processes as a critical friend and independent supporter.
